Presentation

Nitidæ is an international non-profit organisation based in Lyon, specialising in the design and implementation of sustainable rural development projects. Working mainly in Africa, its aim is twofold: to preserve the environment while supporting the economic development of local communities.

Nitidæ works on key themes:

  • Small-scale farming and support for producers
  • Agricultural markets and sustainable value chains
  • Forest management and conservation of natural resources
  • Adaptation to climate change and territorial resilience

The landscape approach enables us to understand the interactions between agricultural uses, natural resources and social organisation, and to steer transitions towards sustainable balances on a regional scale. Using an approach that is both pragmatic and scientific, Nitidæ supports agricultural transition paths that are adapted to the diversity of existing systems, while respecting farmers' dynamics.
