Activities

COPABO (Bondoukou Cashew Planters Co-operative, located in the Zanzan region) born in 1999 offers its semi-finished products on the fair market and by supporting small nut shelling units in the villages. RONGEAD in partnership with Ethiquable supported the COPABO certification process to obtain the FLO fair label for its cashew nuts (label obtained in 2006). The support of RONGEAD - which takes place within the framework of the project funded by the European Union "Professional structuring of the cashew nut sector: a lasting contribution to peace" (2004-2008) - is in the form of participatory workshops of training of cooperative managers. Strengthening the bargaining capacity of farmers, control of the sector, marketing channels and quality control now allow cooperatives to obtain higher prices.
