Main goals

RONGEAD's expert mission takes place within the framework of FAO's global initiative to establish a strategic planning process, leading to the identification of five strategic objectives from which regional initiatives have been defined

Specific objectives

Improvement and continuation:

  • of the intensification of dihe production through the integrated management of agricultural landscapes and;
  • of resilient livelihoods in Africa

Results

** R1. ** Value chain diagnosis
** R2. ** Production equipment made available to producers
** R3. ** Best practices in Spirulina production are identified and documented
** R4. ** The places and groups in the production chain implementing best practices are identified
** R5. ** A detailed plan for a shooting session to produce a video documentary and a photo report is designed
** R6. ** The film crew is accompanied on site

Activities

** A1. ** Assess the Spirulina value chain (resource management, depletion, harvesting and production system, marketing chain ...)
** A2. ** Participate in the purchase and delivery of Spirulina production equipment
** A3. ** Make recommendations for actions that could be implemented by FAO or other projects/donors
** A4. ** Identify and document best practices in the production, conservation and marketing of spirulina
** A5. ** Identify places and groups implementing best practices in Dihe production
** A6. ** Accompany film crew to the selected sites
