R1. Linking the processing unit and some local wholesalers of palm oil, improvement of the manufacturing process and better management of the unit

Activities

Members of the Keukoué Group produce and market palm oil using traditional and semi-mechanized processes to support their families and provide some income. This transformation requires fuelwood, which is a large fraction of the cost of processing, and contributes to local deforestation and, consequently, to climate change and habitat destruction. hypolimnas aubergeri, an endangered species that only exists in western Côte d'Ivoire. In addition, the low oil yield (around 9% on the fruit, against 16% to 18% in some traditional units), the lack of formalized contracts and the mismanagement of the unit reduce the income generated for the members of the group. group.
