We are recruiting a study manager in remote sensing and spatial modeling in France

Produce a reference map of cashew orchards in Côte d'Ivoire and develop an harvest forecasting model, spatialized on a national scale

Nitidæ is recruiting a Remote Sensing and Spatial Modeling study manager to join the N'Lab team in particular for the project ANAGROCLIM.

Anagroclim project

Since several years, Nitidæ has been providing technical assistance in the development of a cashew nut harvest forecasting model in Côte d'Ivoire, in order to estimate actual national cashew nut production. For the time being, plot studies have been carried out to gain a better understanding of fruiting dynamics and establish statistical relationships between the different stages of production. However, to obtain a useful model on a larger scale, we need statistics on the surface area of orchards in production (tree potential), as well as an estimate of the overall nut load in these orchards. These elements are still poorly known on a national scale.

Skills and qualifications required

We are looking for a candidate with the following profile:

  • Doctorate or Bac+5 minimum in the doamins of Remote Sensing, Forestry, Agronomics or Geography.
  • Solid knowledge in statistics, spatial modeling, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote sensing. Knowledge of drone technologies would be a plus.
  • ...

Place

France – Montpellier or Lyon, with regular missions to the project intervention sites in Côte d'Ivoire
