Annual meeting of cashew nuts sector in Mozambique

Nitidæ participated in the annual meeting of INCAJU (Government Institute of Cashew Promotion), partner of our new project ACAMOZ

During three days, all the main cashew actors of Mozambique (INCAJU - Instituto de Fomento do Caju, ministries, private companies, Nitidæ, producers and others) met in Gurué in the Center of Mozambique to review the production and marketing of the raw and processed nuts in the last 5 years.

The quality of Mozambique's cashew nuts has increased since 2015: 44 - 47 as well as the marketing volume of the cashew nut: 90,000 tonnes to 130,000 tonnes (INCAJU 2019)

It also discussed the future challenges of the sector such as the establishment of a reference price, the auction of cashew products and funding to small producers ...

Nitidæ, represented by Isabela Soares, institutional and gender specialist of the ACAMOZ project, presented, on May 31st, the objectives of the project as well as the importance of taking into account the question of gender (role of man and woman in the agricultural sector, specifically in the cashew sector).
