Specific objectives

OS1. Establishing the Reference Emission Level
OS2. Establishment of 3 project scenarios, via the adaptation of the High Carbon Stocks (HCS) method



A1. Forest/Non Forest cover maps for 2000 and 2015
A2. Land-use change map (i.e. deforestation) for the period 2000 – 2015 based on Landsat images (30 m of resolution
A3. Assessment of carbon compartments (Above-Ground Biomass, Below Ground biomass, litter and dead wood) based on available literature
A4. Forest Reference Emissions Level calculations for the next 20 years
A5. Establishment of 3 distinct project scenarios, via the adaptation of the High Carbon Stocks method to take into account the level of fragmentation of the forest considered

Country representative in Senegal

Romuald Vaudry

Forester and with a Master II in "Development and Land Planning" from the National Agronomic Institute Paris Grignon and University of Science Montpellier II (France). Currently our representative in Senegal, he is pursuing technical assistance missions for the benefit of the Ivory Coast team. He brings his expertise in the design and implementation of multi-stakeholder territorial projects (REDD+, IWRM) as well as sustainable forest management and reforestation.

PhD in Functional Ecology and Agronomic Sciences (SupAgro, IRD and CIRAD) and specialized in Localized Information Systems for Spatial Planning (AgroParisTech), he is an expert in land use change monitoring using remote sensing, digital soil mapping and spatial modeling applied to forestry, agronomy and landscape ecology. He is the author of numerous international scientific publications.

Tiodionwa Ouattara

Holder of a Master of Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems for the Development and Management of Lands and Ecosystems, Tiodionwa joined the team of Nitidæ Côte d'Ivoire in December 2016. He is currently pursuing a thesis dedicated to monitoring (agro)forest dynamics within the framework of the Mé REDD + Project (PRM).
