Main goals

Conduct of a diagnostic study on all 21 artisanal production sites of shea butter and for assistance in the conversion of a center into an industrial unit with a capacity of 2 tons/day of finished product butter

Specific objectives

  • Analyze existing production centers and make recommendations to improve working conditions, production performance and environmental performance (water, energy, waste)
  • Design the transformation of a craft center into an industrial center of butter capacity of 2 tons/day

R1. Report with the description of the operation of the production centers

  • The conclusions of the analysis of the collected data
  • The formulation of the performance improvement tracks
  • The conclusions of the expert on the ability of the company to implement the recommendations
    R2. Expert conclusions on the mission, accompanied by a global equipment plan for all production sites with budget estimate
  • A description of the proposed performance improvement solutions
  • An offer of support for the implementation of all or part of the plan

Activities

A1. Diagnosis of production center

  • Visit at least 5 production centers among 21 units
  • Interviews with managers and workers carried out to understand production methods and define the flow of products, water, energy and waste around the production
  • Formulation of recommendations for the development of the activities and the improvement of the performances according to different criteria (speed of production, environment ...)
  • Exchanges at the end of the mission with the sponsors will widen the conclusions to the 21 production centers
    A2. Design of an industrial center
  • Additional working time planned with the managers and main decision-makers of the increase in production volume as well as with the future operators of this center
  • Definition of the desired objectives with the new production center and the methods of implementation and desired operations
