Main goals

Since 2019, SIDI, a French social investor, has been providing financial support to gebana Faso, a company specialising in the purchase, processing and marketing of organic dried mangoes and cashew nuts. Every year, an on-site visit takes place to carry out due diligence (organisational, operational and financial) in order to renew the funding. However, since 2023, these visits have been suspended due to internal policy and the local context.

Consequently, SIDI has engaged Nitidæ to supplement their remote assessment by carrying out an on-site visit in accordance with their guidelines.

Specific objectives

SO1. Identify areas for improvement on the technical, logistical and human resources aspects by assessing the overall operations of the two processing plants (existing and new)

SO2. Provide information on potential developments in the sector by updating the analysis of the local economic and security context

Beneficiaries

  • SIDI (Solidarité Internationale pour le Développement et l'Investissement)
  • gebana Faso

Activities

A1. Carry out a comprehensive assessment of the new cashew processing plant in order to evaluate its performance, organisation and prospects for development

A2. Analyse the operations of the existing processing plant by identifying its strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for improvement

A3. Assess the supply chain and supplier relationships, focusing on supply security, internal controls and the management of information, flows and stock levels

A4. Examine the organisation of human resources, in particular the reasons for recent staff departures, job suitability, working conditions and employee satisfaction levels

A5. Update the analysis of the local and national context, taking into account developments in the economic and security situation, as well as their potential impact on operations
