Main goals

As part of its commitments to protect and regenerate nature, Unilever is implementing with its local partners a program on sustainable sourcing of vanilla in Madagascar, SAVA region. The program is called Fandriaka II/ Vanilla for Change 2020-2024 and is in collaboration with GIZ. The partners are conceiving a new phase for this program that will take place from 2024 to 2028.

Specific objectives

This new program would include a work package on "Regenerative agriculture, no deforestation and reforestation of degraded forest". Unilever has selected Nitidæ to undertake the feasibility study of this work package, analyzing the opportunities, and providing recommendations, based on its experience on vanilla and regenerative agriculture, and its long-lasting presence and action in Madagascar.
