Internship offer - Monitoring of biogaz and pyrolysis installations in Côte d'Ivoire and assessment of the cashew shell charcoal potential

Contribute to energy issues through technological solutions developed by the association (biogas and pyrolysis installations) by joining the Agrovalor project team in Côte d'Ivoire

Since December 2017, the association Nitidæ has been implementing the Agrovalor Project, co-financed by the French Development Agency (AFD), the company RecycLivre and the Interprofessional Fund for Research and Agricultural Advice (FIRCA). The project aims to promote the energy recovery of agro-industrial waste in Côte d'Ivoire and to distribute energy recovery equipment adapted to the local context (in particular in the cities of Bouaké and Korhogo) by ensuring a transfer of skills for replication of these technologies in the country in the medium to long term.

Goal

The internship consists of proposing and designing improvements to the technologies developed by the Agrovalor RCI project: the biodigesters of cassava juice as a priority, but also the H2CP pyrolysis ovens and improved stoves.

Mission

The recruited intern must:

  • Participate in the promotion, design, installation and operational monitoring of equipment promoted by the Project among beneficiaries (including biodigesters and H2CP pyrolysis ovens)
  • Support project staff for monitoring interventions on biodigesters and H2CP already installed as well as monitoring construction sites for new biodigesters
  • Evaluate the best way to increase the capacity of pyrolysis ovens, and to develop charcoal
  • Interact constructively with the beneficiaries of the project (service providers, apprentice masons, cashew processing manufacturers, etc.)

Date and place of internship

The internship will take place in Bouaké, Côté d´Ivoire and will start on Monday March 2, 2020 and will end on Monday August 31, 2020 (6 months).
