Talaky project: overview of forest ecosystem preservation areas supported by AFD in south-eastern Madagascar

The European Union, Germany and France are working together alongside Madagascar to actively fight deforestation

A delegation led by the Minister of the Environment of Madagascar and the Ambassador of France carried out an overview of the Talaky settlement area and the future intervention zone for Grand Talaky on March 25. Other technical and financial partners took part in the overview: the Director of AFD in Madagascar, the Head of Cooperation of the European Union and the Head of Cooperation of the German Embassy. On the Administration side, there were also the Director General of Environment and the Director General of Agriculture. At the end of the overview, a meeting was organized with regional officials, led by the Governor of Anosy, on the prospects for natural resource management in the Region.

The Ambassador of France reiterated France's commitment to Biodiversity and Environment, and confirmed the ongoing investigation of the Grand Talaky program across the Anosy region.


AFD has been committed for 10 years to the preservation of the forests of the South East and the unique biodiversity of Madagascar with and for the benefit of local populations particularly vulnerable to climate change.
