Bertrand Konan

Biography
Passionate about regional dynamics and social impact, Bertrand Konan has over 10 years of experience working on agricultural, humanitarian and environmental issues. Trained in geography at the Institute of Tropical Geography (IGT), with specialisations in human resources, communication and project monitoring and evaluation (UNESCO Chair), he combines technical expertise with a human approach to development.
His career began in 2011 in the humanitarian sector with the Red Cross, as a Community Development Coordinator, before specialising in supporting agricultural sectors. He worked as a Supervisor on Mondelez International's Cocoa Life programme, implemented with the NGO 2A, in partnership with CARE International. He then broadened his field of action to the community health sector as Monitoring and Evaluation Manager for the SAFER project, a programme focused on improving the quality of life of people living with HIV (PLHIV).
His expertise is focused on issues of inclusion and sustainability: Gender Supervisor at Cocoanect, then Sustainability Programme Coordinator for four years at Barry Callebaut, where he led ambitious initiatives to promote fairer cocoa production.
In June 2024, he joined Nitidæ as Project Manager for Payments for Environmental Services (PES), funded by the Belgian Development Agency (ENABEL).
