The purpose of this project is to help the association carrying out a reforestation of 214 hectares that especially allows the valuation of sequestered carbon

Specific objectives

SO1. Technical assistance for reforestation, maintenance and training of NAP rangers, also providing direct support to communities for 214 hectares of reforestation with different, exotic or indigenous species
SO2. Support on the valorization and accounting the carbon of the project over 20 years

R3. Restoration of the mangrove ecosystem improving marine and fishing biodiversity
R4. Potential carbon compensation of the sponsor company estimated at 85,646 tCO²eq over 20 years, or 4,282 tCO²eq/year with third party data 3 (IPCC), generating (at a price of 6.5 €/tCO²eq), 205,747 € (deducted project costs)

Activities

A1. Identification, approval and support for the reforestation of mangroves with endemic and exotic plants in collaboration with local communities
A2. Identification, approval and support for reforestation of dry land areas
A3. Seed collection, purchase of indigenous or exotic plants and supervision of nurserymen

A5. Installation and maintenance of firewalls
A6. Maintenance, monitoring of plantings and replanting
A7. Training rangers in reforestation and follow-up
A8. Follow-up of KPI and carbon each 5 years
A9. Carbon valorization with the elaboration of the carbon project document
A10. Field verification through inventories and coordination surveys with sponsors
