Main goals

Wetlands International Africa called on Kinomé/Nitidæ for the feasibility study of a REDD+ project in the Saloum delta biosphere reserve in Senegal, in line with the state's REDD+ strategy. A PDD (Project Design Document) for reducing emissions in the Saloum delta biosphere reserve must be formulated, in accordance with the standards of the VCS (Verified Carbon Standard) and potentially the CCB (Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standard), as well as as Safeguard Policies of international financial institutions

Specific objectives

SO1. Carry out preliminary work for the development of a REDD+ Project in the Saloum Delta Biosphere Reserve
SO2. Develop this project by harmonizing the understanding of the issues of the study and by validating the methodology and the work plan with all the stakeholders
SO3. Propose an approach to operationalize the institutional framework for managing the implementation of this project by the municipalities concerned
SO4. Promote the project to donors and investors
