Job offer - Assitant Project Manager on ACAMOZ 2

ACAMOZ 2 Project Presentation

Building on the successes of the first phase, implemented around Gilé National Park in Zambezia Province between 2018 and 2023, the overall objective of this second phase is to contribute to improving the competitiveness of the cashew and macadamia value chains at the national level.

The project has three main components:

1/ Support for the cashew nut value chain around Gilé National Park in the districts of Gilé and Pebane (Zambezia) to encourage households to adopt technical solutions that increase the resilience of their production systems and are compatible with environmental conservation, while ensuring them better incomes and food security

2/ Support for the macadamia value chain by testing production models adapted to households in the district of Gurué (Zambezia) and/or in Niassa province, while contributing to sectoral strategies

3/ Support for public policies (cashew and macadamia) to strengthen governance in the sector through greater collaboration between value chain stakeholders and the development of policies, strategies and tools that incorporate the results of studies and pilot projects

Mission & Supervision

As the Assistant Project Manager of ACAMOZ 2, your mission will be to supervise the technical and financial implementation of the various activities, particularly components 1 and 3, until the project's completion ; and to carry out the closing activities required by the donors.

The Assistant Project Manager will report to the Country Representative in Mozambique and the Co-Directors of Nitidæ. He/she will also work in close coordination with all Nitidæ employees in Mozambique, as well as with employees at the head office (France) or other country offices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent five-year higher eduction at minimum in Project management, International public development assistance, Economy, Agronomy, Forestery, Land-use planning
  • 5-year minimum professional experience in Project management, Agronomy, Forestry
  • Ability to manage and lead a team (more than 10 persons)
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with proven experience in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Administrative and financial skills
  • Ability to write, analyse and summarise
  • Motivation for field work
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Languages: Portuguese and proficiency in English or French is a plus (spoken and written)
  • Strong motivation for Nitidæ's projects and values

Working conditions

  • Status: short-term or long-term contract
  • Desired start date: as of November 2025
  • Salary : depending on profile and experience
  • Position based in Maputo within Nitidæ's offices and IAM,IP, with frequent travels in Nampula and Zambezia provinces
